Shaw Builder + Multifamily, GE Appliances, Moen, and Sherwin-Williams hosted a cross-section of leaders in design from national builders, semi-custom builders, custom builders, and specialty markets from across the country.
In the new home construction industry, it’s vital that designers stay on top of the trends, stay inspired and connect with one another. This unique community has a responsibility to design homes across the nation that will delight homeowners for years to come.

Embracing this community is exactly what we did at this Leaders in Design event. Surrounded by a powerhouse team of experts, designers were able to learn about style, trends, products, SKU rationalization, packages, studio management and so much more!

In the breakout sessions, we previewed new products and got sneak peeks of exciting new innovations.
There were also candid and transparent voice of the customer sessions where designers saw prototypes and gave their feedback, all while product knowledge was weaved throughout the entire event.
A panel discussion was hosted by renowned design studio guru, Jane Meagher, of Success Strategies.
Questions ranged from FAQs in the design studio from best practices to snackable content to on-going challenges and opportunities.
GE designer, TK Wismer, inspired the crowd with her forward-thinking designs and on-trend insights while other panels discussed trends that were informative, inspiring, and data-driven that provided a better understanding of what is selling and what customers are truly buying.
Some of the product highlights were Moen’s Matte Black fixtures, Sherwin Williams Lonliest Color campaign in Kingdom Gold, and GE’s bold swoon-worthy prototype colors for Cafe appliances!
Shaw Builder + Multifamily wowed not only with new soft and hard surface previews, but we went vertical – it was all about the walls! Designers previewed luxe fluted wall panels and bold printed wallpaper tiles that were jaw dropping and awe-inspiring.
The pinnacle of the event was the keynote speaker, Pinterest. Designers learned through real data and millions of pins what were the most popular styles and trends in fashion, home, and overall lifestyle design. (No surprise in flooring that LVP is leading the pack.) Concluding this session, everyone was encouraged to create their own mood boards to express their favorite styles.

This event wasn’t all business, there was delicious food, stylish fashions on display, downtime to recharge, a cabaret night where everyone dressed to impress! Sequins and sparkles were encouraged as we are all in our design era. There was music, dancing, and sipping GE’s signature cocktail, the Espresso Martini from their new espresso maker.

The networking, bonding, and new friendships made were priceless and the feedback received was overwhelmingly positive from across the country. We are looking forward to continuing education, product knowledge, and growing this special design community.

We extend a warm thank you to each of you who attended and fellowshipped with us. We hope to see you at the next Leaders in Design event; you won’t want to miss it!
