It is the policy of Shaw Industries Group, Inc. to produce and sell hardwood and hardwood products originating from responsible sources. To that end, Shaw Industreis Group, Inc. commits to increasing our hardwood purchases from responsible known sources and to avoiding hardwood from controversial sources.
Shaw Industries Group, inc. is firmly committed to the legal trade of wood products. As such, we expect the same commitment from our suppliers. We will not knowingly purchase or use wood, wood fiber or products for distribution that originate from illegal logging.
Shaw Industries Group, Inc. has appointed a Program Administrator as the contact person responsible for implementing this policy.
The following are considered responsible sources within the context of this policy and in conformance with the amendments of the Lacey Act regarding the importation of wood, wood fiber or products, as well as Tier 1 of the Responsible Wood Procurement Program:
FSC-Certified wood from any country
To implement these legal requirements, we have contacted all of our associated suppliers and verified the materials sourced are in compliance with applicable legal wood standards. Shaw Industries Group, Inc. is committed to making best efforts to identify the sources of wood used in the manufacture and sale of our products but recognizes the difficulty in achieving 100% certainty. We expect the complete cooperation and responsiveness from each of our suppliers.
For this reason, Shaw Industries Group, Inc. invites stakeholders to contact the Program Administrator by email at Eric.Grogg@shawinc.com or by telephone at (706) 532-3264 to issue a formal complaint if it is believed that we are not meeting this policy. Shaw Industries Group, Inc makes the following commitments towards efficient processing and responses to all valid complaints; Shaw Industries Group, Inc. shall:
Signed,
Herb Upton, Shaw Industries Group, Inc.
